The loving sisters (see how loving Kaitlin is) and the strong friend. We went to our friends' house for a cookout. Notice Jeremy in the background? He just can't stay away from that game...What fun we had that day. The food was good and so was the company. Life is short we just don't seem to get enough of times like this. Too busy with life to live the life....This picture is a true testament of how carefree and stress free children live. Happy faces without a care in the world. (for now at least) A lot can be learned from these little minds.

Erskine Freshmen watch out!!!!

Jeremy and Dexter went to Erskine campus the other day to check out the campus and find out about tuition etc. They both came back very excited and fulfilled about their accomplishment for the day. Her name is Hope and named that for a good reason. She was found in an abandoned car engine as a kitten. She rode in that car engine from Greenville to Clemson. She wasn't even old enough to be weaned from her mama cat. When we got her she was only about 1 lbs. and fit into the palm of my hand. Poor kitty was soooo sick. She had a protozoa called coccidia. It causes a lot of diarrhea and bloating. We had her on medications for the next few week. She had been on the medicine for the next few weeks. I called a friend of mine who worked as a veterinarian assistant for the past several years. She came over to see our new member and told us she was a very sick kitty. She took her back to her home and stayed up with her all the next night and gave her iv fluids and kept a close eye on her. The next morning she thought she would be okay and called to give me the good news. I called her later that same afternoon and her tone about Hope had changed. She said that Hope had taken a turn for the worst and may not make it. Her gums were blue and so were the insides of her ears. She just lay there and had no activity at all. I had to tell my nine year old daughter the sad news that her new little kitten may not make it. Listening to the grief in my daughter's voice completely broke my heart. I called one last time that evening to check on Hope and Tammy gave me a few words of encouragement. She said not to get our too excited, but Hope popped her head up and she was showing signs of improvement. She kept her for the next couple of days and we came and picked her up some time later. She was still sick with the coccidia and possibly some pneumonia. She ended up having to stay on the medicine for coccidia for the next month and a half. Our next problem was her tummy being bloated. Poor little kitty looked like a pregnant kitten. The vet told me that he thought it was either the coccidia or FIP. FIP is feline Interstitual Peritonitis which is fatal. (Can this tiny creature go through ANYTHING else) Over time the belly got better and the coccidia finally went away. Now she is a healthy family member and she weighs 4.1 lbs. She love to attack feet and just loves to be loved.

pigeon toes

It sure has been a while since I've written anything on my blog. Jumps on the couch as if it were her own jungle gym. Tyler on the other hand is not as brave. She is not too crazy about heights. Six feet six inches is waaaaaay too high for her. Kaitlin is a walking musical. Loves to talk and sing. Jeremy is just being cool. I am the mother of a soon to be high school graduate. Wow...I can't believe it. I have all kinds of help here at the homestead. (Sometime a bit too much help.) Now to make things complete I just need a maid to keep the house clean and a gardener to keep my yard up to par. Hee hee...

Special Delivery

SHE'S HERE!!!!! Yes, you all read correctly. It's a girl. I'm sure just about everyone has already heard the news. Our baby girl was born on April 10, 2006 at 3:33 in the morning. She weighed in at 7 lbs. and 6 ozs. 19 1/4 " long. She has jet black hair and a beautiful round face. Everything went much smoother and quicker than we anticipated. No labor pain (thanks to the miracle of an epidural) and an easy delivery. So we are now in for the adventure of sleeping, eating, and diaper changing. In other words...starting over...AGAIN!!! What a joy!!! There is no greater joy on earth than to see your child grow up from infancy to adulthood. Let the adventure begin and continue......

Stessful day.

It has been a bit of a stressful week. Trying to get our finances in order, getting ready for baby, taking care of a three year old. Carpooling my 7 year old and 17 year old. Jeremy was taking himself and Kaitlin to school every day, but there he gotten into an accident. He ended up being blinded by another car coming from the opposite direction and poor Jeremy couldn't see and lost control of the car and end up in a ditch in a field. He wasn't hurt, Thank God. He was very shook up though. Fortunately, the car is being fixed and I think Jeremy has calmed down, but he won't be driving again for a while. He is now terrified to drive. Which can be a good thing. We just don't want it to make him never try again. We'll just chalk this one up as another hard lesson (hopefully) learned. The entire house is a sleep, but me....Woman's work is never done and still isn't. I feel like the rabbit in the tunnel that gets longer and longer.

As for baby...Growing, growing...this is a good thing. Just a few more weeks...Better get crackin' heehee

Closer to baby due date

Only a few short weeks and we'll have another baby Stowers in the house. I'm not sure I should be nervous or excited. I'm a little of both. I feel like I'm pretty much ready for this baby to come. On the other hand, I'm starting over...that tends to cause a bit of nervousness. However, once that baby gets here it will be all good. I feel good, just a bit blimpier (I'm sure that isn't a word) Everyone says I look good, I'm not sure what they are looking at. Dexter is fine, until I call him and tell him, "Honey, its time..." The panic will creep its way in. As for the kids: Jeremy doesn't really care one way or the other. He would like to have a little brother, but he does a lot of his own thing and what more can I say. Kaitlin is very excited especially if it is a boy. She really wants a baby brother. I think she thinks that things will somehow be different if she has a brother. Heee heee she is in for a rude awakening....Tyler is trilled now that she is going to be a big sister. The countdown is 26 days until due date and 21 days until possible induction...However, the possibilties are endless.

Countdown to next Baby Stowers.

Well, the count down to the next family member is under way. Due date: 4/15/2006. Wow, less than one month away. I just don't think this baby will let me wait that long though. People have asked me if I'm getting excited. Excited, nervous, etc. Another baby...starting over....exciting, yet scarey. Dexter has been doing a lot of nesting lately. Quite a bit more than mom here. I came home last Saturday morning after working all night. Apparently, I wasn't the only one working all night. My darling husband cleaned out every cupboard in the entire kitchen. Scrubbed everything clean until we had no soap left for any other cleaning in the house. Not only did he clean, but he also rearranged everything. Whew...he made me tired watching him. I have all the baby clothes clean (hope its a girl) Hee hee. 98% girl clothes. Oh well, I guess the baby will wear lots of pink the first few weeks regardless. We (or rather I ) opted not to find out this time, so it is all a guessing game. I think it will be fun, Dexter doesn't agree though. (Imagine that) I'm starting to get a little curious myself, but not enough to rush and have another ultrasound. We certainly can't change our order now. Ha ha
