July 4 2007

Here are some forever friends. The loving sisters (see how loving Kaitlin is) and the strong friend. We went to our friends' house for a cookout. Notice Jeremy in the background? He just can't stay away from that game...What fun we had that day. The food was good and so was the company. Life is short we just don't seem to get enough of times like this. Too busy with life to live the life....This picture is a true testament of how carefree and stress free children live. Happy faces without a care in the world. (for now at least) A lot can be learned from these little minds.

Erskine Freshmen watch out!!!!

Jeremy and Dexter went to Erskine campus the other day to check out the campus and find out about tuition etc. They both came back very excited and fulfilled about their accomplishment for the day. So next year I will be the mother of a college freshmen. Oh, that sounds so old....Jeremy is on his way to making a career and a life. Wow, life just continues to be amazing, fun, and full of surprises.

And yet another addition to the Stowers Family

We have a new cat. We brought home a cat named Toby. This is a male kitty. He is a beautiful white and orange stripped cat. The problem is our cat Hope is not taking to him very well. We have had some territory issues and have had to seclude Toby until Hope can get used to the newcommer. Hopefully, she will be able to become accustomed to her new housemate. Only time will tell. However, the kids all love the new kitty. He is very lovable and makes a great addition to our home. Our house is never full of challenge and love. So it is another day in our home...

Hope...new family member.

We got a new cat a few months ago. Her name is Hope and named that for a good reason. She was found in an abandoned car engine as a kitten. She rode in that car engine from Greenville to Clemson. She wasn't even old enough to be weaned from her mama cat. When we got her she was only about 1 lbs. and fit into the palm of my hand. Poor kitty was soooo sick. She had a protozoa called coccidia. It causes a lot of diarrhea and bloating. We had her on medications for the next few week. She had been on the medicine for the next few weeks. I called a friend of mine who worked as a veterinarian assistant for the past several years. She came over to see our new member and told us she was a very sick kitty. She took her back to her home and stayed up with her all the next night and gave her iv fluids and kept a close eye on her. The next morning she thought she would be okay and called to give me the good news. I called her later that same afternoon and her tone about Hope had changed. She said that Hope had taken a turn for the worst and may not make it. Her gums were blue and so were the insides of her ears. She just lay there and had no activity at all. I had to tell my nine year old daughter the sad news that her new little kitten may not make it. Listening to the grief in my daughter's voice completely broke my heart. I called one last time that evening to check on Hope and Tammy gave me a few words of encouragement. She said not to get our too excited, but Hope popped her head up and she was showing signs of improvement. She kept her for the next couple of days and we came and picked her up some time later. She was still sick with the coccidia and possibly some pneumonia. She ended up having to stay on the medicine for coccidia for the next month and a half. Our next problem was her tummy being bloated. Poor little kitty looked like a pregnant kitten. The vet told me that he thought it was either the coccidia or FIP. FIP is feline Interstitual Peritonitis which is fatal. (Can this tiny creature go through ANYTHING else) Over time the belly got better and the coccidia finally went away. Now she is a healthy family member and she weighs 4.1 lbs. She love to attack feet and just loves to be loved.

pigeon toes

It sure has been a while since I've written anything on my blog. The kids are surely growing taller by the minute. Everytime they wake up I think another foot has been added to their growth charts. Jordan is not only walking, but she is running (pigeon toes and all) Poor child is so pigeon toed, she looks like she is trying to run into herself. She is such an acrobat too. Jumps on the couch as if it were her own jungle gym. Tyler on the other hand is not as brave. She is not too crazy about heights. Six feet six inches is waaaaaay too high for her. Kaitlin is a walking musical. Loves to talk and sing. Jeremy is just being cool. I am the mother of a soon to be high school graduate. Wow...I can't believe it. Time just continues to march on and on and on.

I'm back!!!

Yes, you got it right! I'm back. It has been quite a long time since I have posted anything. Well, I couldn't remember my password and all that jazz. Obviously, I already had another blog created that I had somehow forgotten. Anyway, long story short, I have finally figured out how to get back onto my own webpage. (Nice) The kids are growing.....worse than weeds....

Jordan is now crawling, sitting up, and attempting to stand. Sometime she actually achieves it. Tyler is getting taller and taller. She is four now and should be looking me eye to eye to eye to eye VERY soon. Jeremy has broken a few razors with that facial hair. Kaitlin, as usual, is her normal nonstop talk (I don't know where that comes from) Poor Dexter is back to the grind today after a bit of a break for the holidays. (What break?!!!)

Well, there is the update. Short and sweet. Not much has changed. Until the next time........

Loosing my mind!!

Well, what can I say? A house full of kids, a job, and trying to have a life. My house stays a perpetual mess. My darling little 3 year old has lost my palm pilot ( which has my entire brain on it). Hopefully, it will turn up soon. Some time before a new decade comes along. Worst case senerio she may have thrown it in the trash. Best case...it is somewhere in my pile of God knows what at home....If the toilets start to back up, I may know why. I did find my glasses at the bottom of my toilet bowl one day after getting out of the shower. Who knows. It will only be a matter of time before the littlest one is doing just what Tyler has been doing. The search will continue. Until next time.
